Pharaoh Ramses II during the 13th century BCE, during the 19th Dynasty of ancient

The construction of Abu Simbel aimed to showcase the power, grandeur, and divine connection of Ramses II's reign. DAY 6 | DRIVE TO LUXOR

Today, you will journey to Luxor overland. The direct drive between these two cities, without any stops, requires just over 3 hours via the highway. Opting for the "scenic route" along the countryside routes along the eastern side of the Nile River extends the travel time to four and a half hours. However, there are three important temples to visit on the way to Luxor:  Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Edna. Adding these three stops extends the travel time to 9.5 hours from Aswan to Luxor.

Arriving in Luxor, the southern part of Egypt, we will take a sightseeing tour of the ancient Temples of Karnak and Luxor in the East Bank and stroll the Avenue of the Sphinxes and the Hypostyle Hall. Later, we are moving on to visit Luxor Temple to take a closer look at the colossal statues of Pharaohs like the Great Ramses II.

Begin with a visit to the UNESCO Valley of the Kings, the sacred place chosen by the Greatest Pharaohs to be their final resting place, and the

necropolis of Thebes, and see the beautiful and elaborate tombs of Ancient Egyptian rulers. We continue to visit the mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, a colonnaded building embedded in the mountain cliffs. Learn about the life of this brave Queen Pharaoh, one of the most influential female rulers of Ancient Egypt.

DAY 7 | LUXOR WEST BANK

Nestled on the west bank of the Nile River near Luxor, Egypt, the Valley of the Kings stands as a mesmerizing testament to ancient Egyptian royalty and their pursuit of the afterlife. This archaeological marvel was the burial ground for pharaohs and powerful nobles during the New Kingdom period, approximately 16th to 11th centuries BCE.
Distinguished by its dramatic desert landscape, the Valley of the Kings is home to over 60 lavishly decorated tombs carved deep into the rock. Each grave is a unique testament to the individual pharaoh, adorned with intricate hieroglyphics, vivid paintings, and religious scenes depicting the journey to the afterlife.
Among the notable tombs is that of Tutankhamun, the young pharaoh whose burial chamber, though smaller in comparison, captivates with its treasures, including the iconic golden mask. Exploring these crypts is like unraveling the mysteries of a bygone era as visitors witness the artistry and beliefs that shaped - Egyptian culture.
Guided by the belief in resurrection and immortality, the Valley of the Kings represents a remarkable convergence of spirituality, artistry, and architectural ingenuity.

DAY 8 | LUXOR WEST BANK

Today, our exploration of Luxor's West Bank commences with a visit to Karnak Temple, the world's second-largest temple, surpassed only by Angkor Wat in Cambodia. As you enter, your eyes will be drawn to the towering Obelisk at the main entrance, a majestic symbol with a historical twist – the companion Obelisk can be found at the Concorde Place in Paris, France. The intertwined history and grandeur of Karnak Temple await your discovery.

Luxor Temple is like a smaller version of Karnak, resembling a more compact counterpart to Karnak Temple, and diverges in purpose from its partners in the Luxor region. Unlike temples devoted to specific gods or pharaohs, Luxor Temple, constructed in 1400 BC, is believed to have been a ceremonial site for the coronation of numerous kings of ancient Egypt. The aura and layout of the temple convey a distinct ambiance, marking it as a unique and historically significant tower in the landscape of Luxor.
