Prepare for a morning pick-up from your Riad in Marrakech, marking the beginning of a journey traversing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260m) – the highest road in Morocco. Marvel at panoramic views of the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains along the way. Your first destination is the UNESCO heritage site, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, situated on a hilltop and famed for its appearances in movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Wander through the impressive site with its twisted and narrow pathways, taking in breathtaking views from the upper heights.

Following lunch at Ait Ben Haddou village, the journey continues along the Road of Thousand Kasbahs to Skoura Oasis and Rose Valley, ultimately reaching Boumalne Dades. Arrive in the beautiful Dades Valley, shaped over centuries by the Dades River. Explore the caves of the nomadic people in Boulmane Dades, immersing yourself in their unique way of life and warm hospitality.

The adventure proceeds with a visit to the magnificent Todra Gorge, where the river has sculpted awe-inspiring landscapes over time. Depart from Dades Boulmane for a short drive to Todgha Gorge the following day. As you walk along the gorge basin, take in the breathtaking scenery; with luck,  you might witness rock climbers in action.

In 2004, the Moroccan government paved the way for connectivity, constructing a road that linked Khamlia with the broader Moroccan landscape, fostering communication and cultural exchange. As we bid farewell to Khamlia, the journey continues back to our camp in Merzouga, where the tranquil Sahara Desert awaits.
